Terrazzo Restoration
Residential terrazzo flooring was extremely popular in the late 50s, 60s and early 70s with the main benefit being terrazzo floors stay very cool. This option made the most sense during that time frame due to most homes not having central air conditioning. The majority of theses floors were left with an undesirable finish that were eventually covered up by another flooring system down the road. The restoration of terrazzo flooring has become some what of a dying trade and having new terrazzo installed can come with a hefty price tag.
Luckily All Bright has you covered! For over 20 years we have been uncovering and restoring existing terrazzo floors. Our craftsman are skilled in the art of tinting filler and creating custom chips to mimic the existing terrazzo to fill and blend those pesky cracks, chips and tack strip holes from old carpeting. We provide a NATURAL high luster finish, or satin finish if you prefer, with a method of refinement from diamond grinding and polishing the pores of the cementitious floors. This process provides the best clarity of sheen and longevity of integrity by providing a tighter harder surface that holds up to wear and tear much better than just a wax or topical sealer.
Another added bonus of a natural finish to these floors is that traffic areas showing wear and tear can be restored in the future without having to service the entire home or area, making long term maintenance a simple procedure. With the shine clarity of a marble floor and the durability of a polished concrete surface these hidden gems of the flooring world can be transformed into a beautiful floor meant to last!
